Its 4 a.m. ..we move today… I have been awake since 2… cleaned the oven (which we are leaving), packed yet another box..
…….how do I feel? Ok actually tired but Ok…this is a positive move there is a whole big beautiful world out there… its people not places that matter… at what point do places: villages, houses, homes become so important to us?
It may be a while before I am able to blog (is this a verb?) again! We are moving in with a friend.. our new apartment not yet released……14th Sept. our backstop date…
……..is there a difference between an apartment and a flat?…..who knows?
Omar looked for cheap flights to Mauritius today.. not a hope… £850….they’re having a laugh…still; only 6 months….and counting………….

…well we exchanged contracts on Monday on our sale……and we complete tomorrow! so much to do… I have been getting up at 4a.m. and falling into bed exhausted not long after 8!
I was dreaming about my mum this morning when I woke with a start; 4:56 on the clock ( a lie in) I phoned Hannah at 5:05 and had a lovely long chat; I feel so close to her even though she is thousands of miles away … perhaps all mothers and daughters should have at least one continent between them to promote family harmony. Actually I am in a good place emotionally about her living in Japan, but the smell of her perfume or just writing this blog brings tear to my eyes so maybe I am just kidding myself.

We spent a busy week end packing; 18 years of our life into boxes; ‘Apartment’, ‘Mauritius’, ‘Paul’s’.
The hardest part was packing the family photos; wondering ‘when will we see them again?’

….well today I’m not working any more; I stayed in bed (K brought me a cup of tea) read the paper and saw 3 herons fly past the window! I shouted at Omar for the mess his, and his brothers, bedroom was in; not sure the boys are going to enjoy my retirement! Its funny you think….well I thought, I’d be different not soo stressy! not sure why I thought that but hey one can dream. Still no news that we have exchanged contracts 
but… I cycled to the hairdressers

Had a shit day yesterday stressing about the sale of our home. It feels like we want to sell our home the couple want to buy our house but we have no control over the stuff happening in the middle. Its been 18 years since we last did this (and we did it frequently in those days). I am sure it was always thus but I’d forgotten how out of control one feels, I really don’t like it!

Hello world! I feel kind of nervous this is my first blog and it is to be my retirement blog! Friday 13th of July is due to be my last day at work! Not sure if thats a good omen or what. At the grand old age of 53 I am giving up the world of work! Its also kind of strange that I’m not sure what sort of voice you write a blog in! I will have to do some research before Friday when this blog will start to record my new life. How exciting is that!!
