Kay’s retirement party last night brought it home to me that in just over a month we will be winging our way over the seas to a new challenge. Part of me is wildly excited a fresh start an exciting new life, but a large part of me is quite honestly terrified that leaving family and friends will be more than I can bear. In all reality it is likely that the truth will fall somewhere in between.

…….this quote is snitched from Omar’s blog but it seems to link conveniently to my current meanderings ……..we have stopped drifting and made a conscious decision to do something new, to step off the grindstone. BUT making a conscious decision to change how we live our life is not always easy. Sometimes just drifting is the safe, easy option; then we don’t have to take responsibility for how things turn out…..

…….several things recently have made me consider what I should be writing about; writing my last blog, reading a friend of my sons rather more intellectual entries and the fact that some one actually admitted to reading my blog and enjoying it (even though as yet I have not stimulated any comments). The big question really seems to be who am I writing this for? To be honest I write it for me, so this subject shouldn’t occupy any more of my precious time, but I have to admit it does, which seems to come back to the discussion in my last blog… If anyone out there reads this and is a blogger I would really value some comments on why You blog… I wait in anticipation… but I am not holding my breath….

A good friend asked why I was blogging why I didn’t keep a diary I don’t like diaries I have never kept one for more than a couple of days then you have the problem about where you keep them somewhere private? under lock and key? I like blogs you have no worries about where you last left your blog and no white pages staring out at you because you haven’t written for a week or two and the fact that its available to all makes you consider what you say which sets boundaries which I like…what do you write about who cares….my next blog should be about punctuation I don’t like punctuation……………..
