….waves at Pereybere | Jan 31st 2008
Yes really; big waves some of them 6/7 feet high! For those of you who don’t know Pereybear beach it is the best spot on the whole island of mauritus to swim and it is always as calm as a millpond; but not today!
We were disturbed from sleep and evacuated from the path of a cyclone ( warning level 3) at 6 a.m. but by the time we had reached Port Louis it had passed by the south west of the island!
On our return we had an amazing time in the waves the sea was warm and blue and there were waves and I got rather sunburnt 
oh well it was worth it.
This is my first blog from Mauritus and so much has happened in five days but I just had to write about the waves; this was really something special!

lovely to hear from you,very envious but we have been having some wonderful days here with beautiful blue skies,but not sunburn yet. the daffodils are now out ,so spring is on the way. Carol was asking about you,so I can pass on some news. love P&M
