At what point does life here stop being a holiday? we still do lots of touristy things…picnics at the beach…gazing at the view….swimming in the sea … but I’m sure however long we are here we will still do these things!
Its 5 weeks today since we left home… so what do I miss… mostly my boys.. I so enjoy their company and their view on life and their ‘joie de vie’ ( I hope thats spelt right!!) Hannah I am used to being away and she is so good at communicating in wonderfully long letters; that said communication is good with home; texts, phone calls and visits to the internet cafe. But I so miss my long chats with friends, putting the world to rights and having someone know where you are coming from! and English newspapers although I have so far resisted the urge to pay 300 rupees (approx. 6 pounds) for an Express!
So they have started building our house (recent photos on flikr) and the sun shines every day and makes the sea the most beautiful colour blue and we walk and swim and cycle and (mostly) eat very healthily! So life is cool. Mauritius still has this scruffiness which is endearing, mostly, but what man is able to do to such natural beauty saddens me; but Hannah assures me Mauritius really is paradise compared with India!
